Privacy Policy
How Vigo Engineering Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and processes personal information in connection with LoonFS.
Last Updated: April 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Vigo Engineering Inc. (“LoonFS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information when you use our website, including loonfs.com, our documentation, our open-source project resources, and any LoonFS-hosted or other LoonFS-operated products or services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”).
LoonFS includes open-source components and may also include hosted, commercial, or otherwise LoonFS-operated products and services. Some people may use self-hosted or open-source versions of LoonFS without using a LoonFS-operated service. In those cases, this Privacy Policy generally applies to information we collect through our website, forms, communications, repositories, and any LoonFS-operated services, not to data processed solely within a third-party self-hosted deployment that we do not operate.
By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure practices described in this Privacy Policy. Your use of the Services may also be subject to additional terms, including our Terms of Service when applicable.
1. Personal Information We Collect
We may collect personal information from you directly, automatically when you use the Services, and from third parties.
A. Information You Provide to Us
Contact Information. If you contact us, join a waitlist, request updates, subscribe to a newsletter, ask for support, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect information such as your name, email address, company name, role, and the contents of your message or any attachments.
Form Submissions. If you submit a form on our website, we may collect the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and any other details included in the form.
Account and Profile Information. If we offer a hosted LoonFS service, we may collect information such as your name, email address, organization name, login credentials, billing contact details, and account preferences or settings.
Hosted Service Data. If you use a LoonFS-hosted service, we may collect or process information you or your organization submit to the service, including files, file paths, namespace information, object metadata, commit messages or annotations, access-control or sharing settings, support and debugging artifacts, and related operational metadata.
Payments and Billing. If you purchase a paid service from us, payment-related information may be collected and processed by our third-party payment processor on our behalf. We generally do not store full payment card details ourselves.
Job Applications. If you apply for a role with us, we may collect the information you provide in connection with your application, such as your resume, contact details, and background information relevant to the role.
B. Information We Collect Automatically
Usage Information. We may automatically collect information about how you interact with our website or hosted Services, such as pages visited, links clicked, referring URLs, dates and times of access, and other information about your use of the Services.
Device and Log Information. We may collect information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, approximate geographic region, request timestamps, error logs, crash information, API activity, audit events, and other diagnostic or security-related information.
Cookies and Similar Technologies. We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance, and measure the effectiveness of our communications and website.
Hosted Service Telemetry. For a LoonFS-hosted product, we may collect service-level telemetry, logs, and audit information needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
C. Information From Third Parties
We may receive information from third-party services where you choose to interact with us through them, such as source code hosting platforms, analytics providers, payment processors, identity providers, or referral partners.
2. Open-Source, Hosted, and Self-Hosted Deployments
LoonFS includes open-source software, and some users may deploy or operate parts of it themselves. Other parts of LoonFS may be hosted, commercial, or otherwise operated directly by us. If you only use a self-hosted or third-party-operated deployment of LoonFS and do not interact with a LoonFS-operated website or service, we may not receive the files, metadata, logs, or other information processed within that deployment.
If, however, you use LoonFS-operated infrastructure, such as our website, support channels, waitlists, account systems, or any future LoonFS-hosted product, this Privacy Policy applies to the information we collect through those interactions.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information for the following purposes:
- to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
- to create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- to process website form submissions and communicate with you;
- to provide support, respond to requests, and troubleshoot issues;
- to monitor usage, performance, reliability, and security of the Services;
- to develop new products, features, and functionality;
- to understand interest in LoonFS and measure the effectiveness of our website and communications;
- to process transactions and send administrative, technical, service, and billing notices;
- to investigate, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, misuse, security incidents, and other harmful or unlawful activity;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements and policies; and
- for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.
4. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers. We may disclose information to vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, cloud infrastructure, storage, analytics, payment processing, customer support, communications, security, and form processing. These providers may include, for example, Google Analytics, Cloudflare, and future cloud infrastructure providers such as Google Cloud Platform, as well as other subprocessors we may use to operate the Services.
Within Your Organization. If you use a LoonFS-hosted service through an organization account, administrators and authorized users within your organization may be able to access information associated with that account, including certain files, metadata, usage, sharing, and administrative records.
Sharing and Collaboration Features. If we offer sharing, access-control, or collaboration features in a hosted service, information you choose to share may be accessible to the users, administrators, or external parties you authorize.
Legal and Safety Reasons. We may access, preserve, use, or disclose information if we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, protect the rights or safety of you, us, or others, investigate violations of our terms or policies, or detect or prevent fraud or security issues.
Business Transactions. We may disclose or transfer information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
With Your Consent or Direction. We may disclose information with your consent or at your direction.
5. Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Technologies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and how users interact with the site. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about website usage.
We also use Cloudflare in connection with website operations and form submissions. If you submit a form on our website, the submission may be processed through Cloudflare on our behalf.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Services may not function properly.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the context in which it was collected. For example, we may retain support communications, account records, billing records, security logs, and hosted-service operational records for different periods based on business and legal requirements.
If you ask us to delete certain information, we may retain information as required or permitted by law, for security purposes, to comply with legal obligations, or as needed to preserve legitimate business records.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
You may also opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in those emails. Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send you transactional or administrative communications.
To exercise any privacy rights request, please contact us at support@loonfs.com.
8. Third-Party Services
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, repositories, integrations, or services that we do not own or control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those third parties before providing information to them.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@loonfs.com, and we will take reasonable steps to delete the information.
11. International Users
Our Services may be hosted and operated in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Services or providing information to us, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last Updated” date above. If required by law, we will provide additional notice.
